Soaring Above the Clouds

Last Friday we went hiking. In the city it was grey. We took the gondola up Grouse Mountain and halfway up we were above the clouds and guess what?
The sun was shining!!!

Life is a bit like that.

It’s easy to feel down. So many events can contribute to that feeling: the floods, Covid, the state of our planet, politics, relationships, our aging bodies.

How can we keep ourselves above the clouds?

Here are a few tips that will help:

  • Start the day with meditation, prayers, inspirational reading
  • Ask yourself: How am I feeling? If anything but “awesome” tap until you let go of sadness, discouragement or anxiety Choose any thought that starts with “I love that….)
  • Move: 5 minutes of strenuous exercise: jumping, push ups, sit ups, do what you can, just move!
  • Drink a large glass of water
  • Write down your goals for the day and keep them clear, simple and doable
  • Go about your day focusing on one thing at a time taking some breathing breaks where you focus on your breath.
  • When stuck remember that you are not alone, inside of your mind is your Higher Self. Let that part of you handle the problem. Relax and wait for inspiration before you move forward.
  • Smile more

As the Holidays approach we will have many opportunities to practice these tips. Pick a few and celebrate your successes every day!!!!
